Obituary

Kathleen Theresa Martin was born to Nancy and William Martin on September 17, 1985, the fifth child to complete the family.

Kathleen started her journey to heaven to see her mother, sister, and grandparents on January 2, 2020, leaving us all better people by the example of her life.

Kathleen was born with Down syndrome and was a kind and loving soul. She loved to smile and joke around. Her family was most important to Kathleen, but she also made friends everywhere she went. To go anywhere with her in Delaware County you would always hear "Hi, Kate!"

Kathleen graduated from Ridley High School, she loved school and all her teachers and friends.

Kathleen loved going to "Walker Stalker" conventions and meeting actors from her favorite shows "The Walking Dead" and "Sons of Anarchy".

She enjoyed vacationing in Florida, Delaware, and the Jersey Shore with family. She loved going shopping and on lunch dates with her close friends, Lorainne and Sue. Kathleen enjoyed dancing, singing, and going to watch numerous bands play at local restaurants, where she was known to be invited on stage to sing along. She also loved writing in her journal while her cat, Dixie, sat next to her.

Kathleen was one of a kind, who will be missed, and we were so happy to share her with everyone.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy and her sister, Bethanne.

She is survived by her father, William J. Martin, two sisters, Colleen Martin (Timothy Touhill), Monica Farrell (Glenn Kitchin); her brother William D. Martin (Lynsi), four nieces Kayla and Victoria Farrell, Ella and Aubrey Touhill and three nephews, Samual Martin, Nathan and Liam Martin. Her aunt, Eleanor Yingling (Dennis), and her two uncles, Thomas J. Duffy and Michael Duffy O.S.A. and many people she considered aunts and uncles close to her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday after 8:45AM in the Church of St. George, Glenolden, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM. Int. Holy Cross Cemetery.
