Obituary for Elizabeth "Beth" Van Wyk

November 25, 1962 - December 27, 2020
Norwood, Pennsylvania | Age 58

Elizabeth Ann Van Wyk, 58 of Norwood passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday December 27, 2020. She was born November 25, 1962 in Ridley Park, PA to the late Ronald & Mary Ann (Hartzell) Burch. She attended St. Gabriel's School and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast. Her faith played an important role in her life. Beth attended mass every weekend even when away.

Beth has worked for Priority Solutions for the past fourteen years, but her focus was always working with children. While raising her family, Beth babysat nieces and nephews as well as most of the neighborhood children. Once her children were of school age, Beth worked at George Crothers Memorial School where she cared for children with special needs. When Beth wasn't working, she cherished time with her family and friends. She loved traveling with her loving husband, Brian. This included weekends at their house on Lake Wallenpaupack, where she continued to pass on her family traditions to her children. Beth also loved her routines, including her daily jogs. She always took care of herself and the people around her. Beth's resiliency and strength will be greatly missed. She will continue to be loved by all.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years Brian; children: Michael (Chrissy), Erica (Joe), Carly, & Brian (Brenna); grandchildren: Avery, Quinn, Elizabeth, Edda, & Esme; siblings: Dave (Donna) Burch, Doug Burch, Monica (Kevin) Mikelson, Michelle (Rich) Johnson, & Melissa (Bill) Freas; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Beth's visitation from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday January 2, 2021 at the Church of St. Gabriel, 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be privately held in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley, PA.
