Tribute & Message From The Family

Michael J. Crompton, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, the son of Robert and Marie (née Appenzeller) Crompton. Michael and his immediate family have resided within Lancaster County for the past 30 years, enjoying its scenic landscapes and rural quietude.

Michael was a veteran of the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and served his country honorably. As graduate of both Hamilton and Villanova Universities, Michael spent 40 plus years in the dual fields of transportation and logistics consulting, culminating in his role as the Logistics Director for Sara Lee Household & Beverage Company, North America. He not only took pride in his military service and professional accomplishments, but truly relished spending time with his family, particularly his younger granddaughter, Emery, who filled his heart with a youthful joy for life during his last years.

He leaves his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan (née Nagle) Crompton; his sons Michael (deceased), Shawn, and Chad; his two daughters, Kim and Cori; his daughters-in-law Carol and Carey. Michael was also the cherished brother to Robert (deceased), Jack (deceased), Betty, Helen, Edward, David, William and Charles. Michael is also survived by many nephews and nieces, several grandchildren, and a large extended family.

Michael will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as an amazing husband, father, and brother, who will be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched with his kindness and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 9:30-11:00 AM at Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074. Prayers will begin at 11:00 AM, interment will be private at the request of the family.
