Tribute & Message From The Family

Mother's Day 2019

A Gift from Colorado to the East

Nicki L Bechtloff passed away at home on December 23, 2019. She was 76. Born in Pueblo, Colorado she was one of five children of the late Fred "Brick" and Dorothy "Dode" (Cerjanec) Dunlap. She graduated from Central High School before moving east in 1964 to work for the FBI in Washington, DC then later to the Philadelphia area where she remained. Her husband, Edward, passed away in 2014 bringing a temporary close to their 46 years of marriage. She rejoins him now.

Nicki dedicated much of her life to being a devoted wife, mother, sister, grammy, and friend. She is survived by her sister Patti Dunlap of Springfield, Virginia, her daughter Ellen Laibe (Greg), and her two beloved grandsons. Her life touched countless others as her generous and caring spirit was shared whenever she could do so. She was an avid seamstress and baker giving her the chance to put her heart into the craft she shared with others. One of her final activities was baking cookies which sat ready to be shared with her family. We all miss her greatly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 8 at Cavanagh Patterson Funeral Home, 43 E Baltimore Avenue in Media, Pennsylvania. Friends and loved ones may call beginning at 11:00 am. Stories of Nicki's life will be shared beginning at 11:45 am for those who wish to participate – either sharing your own story or just listening. Burial services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or an alternative charity of your choice.

I am shocked and saddened by this news of Nicki's passing. I knew her from living at Holly House. She was the sweetest, kindest and most caring person I know. She brought me much comfort when my sister passed away almost 2 years ago. Her smile and caring disposition will be greatly missed. RIP Nicki. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
