Condolence & Memory Journal

I had the good fortune to start at the Scott Arboretum with Helen in the front office-- we worked together a number of years before she retired. Helen had the ability, intellect and patience, to produce complicated documents impeccably while having a flurry of activity around her, with visitors and phone calls constantly interrupting her-- a rare talent. I could always count on Helen to get the job done with care, focus and dedication and to do the right thing. She also had the strength and integrity to speak up when something simply wasn't right-- a rare gift. Then there were those Italian cookies she baked for her family and office mates every year to celebrate Christmas. I can only imagine how big the hole will feel that she leaves behind for her family members she dearly loved and offer the thought that when you feel that, reflect on how fortunate you are to be able to claim her as your own and to have learned from the example of living she showed us all.
With appreciation for having had Helen in my life and with sympathy for those feeling her loss,
