Tribute & Message From The Family

The angels came to take Nancy Webster way too early. Nancy, 71 of Folcroft, passed away Wednesday surrounded by her loving family. Her strong and courageous fight against the evil called cancer is over. No more pain. No more tears. Instead, family and friends will always remember Nancy as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and true friend to anyone who needed one. She loved animals, the outdoors, her friends, a good laugh and – above all else – her family.

Her husband Joe was the love of her life; her children – and later grandchildren – were her pride and joy. Nancy met Joe as a teenager at a Holy Cross dance, and they continued to act like high-school sweethearts throughout their 45 years of marriage. They were devoted to each other and traveled together whenever they could, visiting Spain, Mexico and Nancy's favorite National Parks.
They had two children, Joe and Jenny, who both became teachers and made her proud each and every day. She was their #1 fan, and she made sure they knew it.
Nancy found joy in spoiling her grandsons Joey and Charlie and doting on her golden retriever Cody and her grandpuppies Dawkins and Rowdy.
Blessed with the gift of gab, Nancy made friends easily and everywhere. No one could stay a stranger around her for long. It's as if she wore a sign reading, "Talk to me!" And talk to her, they did. Always open, accepting and unconditionally supportive, Nancy was a sought-after confidante of her many brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She kept in touch with everyone and kept everyone in touch.

Nancy was born on September 26, 1948 to Maude and John Digan. She grew up in Sharon Hill with her brothers Jack and Jim and graduated from Sharon Hill High School. She had a lengthy career in public service, working in Human Resources for the U.S. Forest Service.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded by her brother Jack and her brothers-and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her husband Joe; her son Joe (Laura McHugh); her daughter Jenny Kurko (Frank); her grandsons Joey and Charlie; her brother Jim Digan (Sandy); her sister-in-law Peg Digan; her aunt Margaret Diorio; her dog Cody; her grand-dogs Dawkins and Rowdy; her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends near and far.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Memorial Visitation on Monday after 9am at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, followed by a Memorial Service at 11am. Int. Private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, PA 19063.

Nancy was always such a lovely, positive girl in high school. We were out of touch since then, except for Facebook. From those posts, I knew that she hadn't changed; she continued to be a happy, loving lady. The world will miss her. My prayers are for Nancy and her family. God bless all of you. - from Audrey (Kugler) Chambers

Condolences to Nancy's family - a family that she loved dearly. The world is without a beautiful person who brought smiles to everyone's face with her wit and wonderful sense of humor. We lost touch over the years but she will be remembered as a fellow Holy Spirit Grade School friend who had a kind heart and always kept those around her laughing.
