Condolence & Memory Journal

I just heard of Mike's sudden passing. I was a customer of his in Drexel Hill, then Ardmore, and finally in Media. Mike was genuinely interested in you as a person and seemed to enjoy conversation, not just "small talk"! Blessings on his entire family at this difficult time.

I miss you more and more everyday daddy, and it doesn't get easier for me. I have so many regrets and all I want to do now is fix everything, it hurts so much that I can't anymore. All I want is my light back. I want you to see me graduate, and get my dream job and go to college like you knew I could do. It hurts. Everything hurts.

As a customer and friend of Mike's for the past three years, I will miss my regular visits and invigorating conversations with him "in THE chair." May God bless him and his family - now and forever.

As a patron at the shop and longtime customer, a visit to Mike was both a great haircut and wonderful conversation about so many different topics. He loved his family, history, movies, books, sports and philosophy. Many years ago, much of the village fabric was shared at the barber shop. That is not the norm anymore but it was in Mike's shop. God bless the entire family. He is missed for his smile, expertise, and gentle nature. Sincerely, Scott Armstrong

I was shocked to hear the news today, and so sad that I didn't know about the services in time to make them. Mike became a good friend over the years that he cut my hair and the hair of my sons, and we will miss him dearly.

So sorry to hear of Mike's sudden passing. I enjoyed taking with him every time I would visit. He was a very nice man and I am sure he has left a great legacy and will not be forgotten. He touched many with his simple kindness. My deepest sympathies.

Mike was such a generous and thoughtful man. Though I was only looking for a haircut, I found a friend. Every four weeks we would talk about Christianity, about history, about books and about life. He was always encouraging, engaged, and passionate. He loved his family deeply, and was a friend to everyone. He was so proud to work alongside his daughter Stephanie. He knew so much about so many things, he was a great conversationalist. We emailed each other when he was sick; he was reconnecting with God and anxious to rejoin his family. His sudden passing is so sad, and my heart and prayers go out to his wonderful family, whom I have had the pleasure of getting to know during Mike's illness. His strength of character lives on in them and his legacy of compassion continues through his children and grandchildren. Goodbye friend. I look forward to seeing you again in time, picking-up right where we left off.

Words cannot express my shock to hear this news today, and words are not adequate to express to you, his family, my condolences. A haircut with Mike was always a highlight of the month -- catching up on movies and shows we'd seen, books we'd read, a bit of the history of ancient Rome or World War 2 or the Kennedy administration. I will cherish my memories of those many conversations. Eternal Rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
